Your rights
Your rights as a borrower
What the law requires of every lending company, and what you can expect from us.
You see the full cost before you sign (Truth in Lending Act)
Before your loan is released you receive a disclosure statement. It shows the amount financed, the interest, each fee deducted, the net proceeds you receive, the total of all payments, the payment schedule and the effective interest rate.
You sign it only when you understand it. Ask the loan officer to explain any line.
The effective interest rate
The effective interest rate counts the interest and every fee against the cash you actually receive, spread over the time you have it. It is higher than the nominal monthly rate because fees are deducted at release.
Compare loans by their effective rate, not by the monthly rate alone. Our calculator shows it for the amount and term you choose.
Interest and fee caps on small loans
The SEC caps the interest and fees on small, short, unsecured consumer loans. Where a loan is covered, our calculator names the circular that applies to it, and our system will not book a loan above the cap.
Paying early
You may pay your loan in full before its last due date. Ask your branch for a payoff quote; your disclosure statement explains how early payment and any rebate of interest not yet earned are computed.
Fair collection (SEC Memorandum Circular 18, series of 2019)
We and anyone collecting for us will never threaten you, use obscene or insulting language, shame you publicly, contact the people in your phone, or pretend to be a lawyer or a court.
Collectors identify themselves and call only between 6 in the morning and 10 at night, unless your account is more than 60 days past due or you agreed to another time.
Complaints
Tell us first: every complaint is logged with a reference number and answered within the time our policy sets. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may bring it to the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Your data
We use your information only to assess, service and collect your loan and to report to the credit bureau as the law requires. You may ask to see, correct or object to it; see the privacy notice.
See the figures for your own amount in the loan calculator, or send a complaint.
